This panel examines ethical issues facing health workers and policy makers in the field of humanitarian health ethics. Panelists include:
- Matthew Hunt, Director of Research and Associate Professor in the McGill University School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, Associate Member of Biomedical Ethics Unit, and Co-Director Humanitarian Health Ethics Network
- Leonard Rubenstein, Professor and Director, Program in Health and Human Rights at Johns Hopkins University
- Lisa Eckenwiler, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Health Administration and Policy, and Faculty Director of the Global Health Fellows Program at George Mason University
They will discuss their research, specifically concerning the concept of vulnerability in humanitarian policy and practice, the protection of health workers in Syria, and palliative care in humanitarian settings. They will also engage with students in a discussion of how they came to work in their respective disciplines, and the different tools they use and venues they work in in their professional practice.
