The Media & Democracy Fellows program is a flexible 15-credit academic program for selected students interested in the political contexts of media production and communication. This semester long undergraduate program is based at Mason's Arlington campus and incorporates a significant internship experience (3-6 credits) with 9-12 credits of specialized coursework in political communication, new media and democracy, politics and mass media, persuasion, and more.
Course choices are flexible and include online options.
Media & Democracy Fellows will make up a small cohort of 15-20 students all interested in engaging the complex challenges of understanding the politics of media in contemporary society.
The smaller classes allow for more student discussion and the opportunity to work closely with faculty to ore deeply explore complex issues. The 3- or 6-credit internship provides the chance to immediately put into practice what you are learning and offers greater insight into a future career in the field of political communication, media strategy, research, analysis, and more.
